HSJ’s services for the construction of the Woodlands Pediatric Hospital Campus and the new Legacy Tower project in Houston’s Medical City included design, engineering, specification, and construction oversight of all openings: electromechanical and mechanical doors, door frames, and associated door hardware. The Woodlands project included 54,900 sq ft of hospital space, a 335,000 sq ft parking garage, and a separate 6 level medical office building. The 25-story Legacy Tower project was a 640,000 sq ft addition to the existing hospital. The projects entailed unique life safety requirements such as behavioral health / anti-ligature requirements, medium and high-rise new construction, existing renovation, blast mitigation, and large and small missile impact protective openings. Our specialized physical security consulting firm provided design engineering services during design development and construction document preparation then supported the bid and construction administration phases for both large-scale projects.
